National Family Celebrations was formerly known as the National Family Week and is a celebration event comprising activities and programmes for families over a fixed period of time. The event was re-branded as the National Family Celebrations in 2008 to reflect its month-long duration. Since 2007, this iconic national campaign is steered by the National Family Council with strong support from the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS). This year, the Celebrations will run from 25 May (Tuesday) to 26 June (Saturday) 2010.

Family Day Out, a nation wide family day, was inaugurated in 2008 to encourage Singaporeans to take time off their busy schedules to enjoy a day out with their families at their own time, own target.

Building on the success of Family Day Out, NFC'10 will be launched with Family Day Out on 29 May 2010, the first Saturday of the mid-year school holidays. There will be fun, exciting activities that will appeal to all in the family, taking place on Family Day Out. Look out for more information on NFC'10!

Businesses and community organizations are encouraged to join in the celebrations by offering opportunities for Singaporeans to spend time with their families on Family Day Out, in their own style, own time, own target.
